Matthew 28:19–20 – The Core Mission: Make Disciples
In these final words of Jesus before His ascension, He reveals the heart of the Christian mission:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…”
This is not just a call to preach — it’s a call to form, train, and raise disciples. Jesus didn’t say “make converts” or “gather crowds” — He said make disciples: followers who live, grow, and walk like Him.
Discipleship is a journey:
It starts with evangelism (sharing the Good News),
Continues through baptism (a public commitment to Christ),
And grows through teaching and obedience (living out Jesus’ commands daily).
Jesus then reassures us:
“And behold, I am with you always…” This means we don’t disciple alone — He walks with us, empowers us, and guides us.
The mission is clear: Reach hearts. Raise disciples. Reflect Christ.
